You wouldn't think that mostly standing around for five hours at a clip, steaming hot dogs, scooping ice cream, would make you so sore, but it certainly has me. Oy.
One of the 16-yr.olds' and my shift overlapped my last half hour today, and one of the other girls who wasn't working came over for a few minutes for some free ice cream. I must say I felt this strange mixture of not fitting in and total superiority as they stood there discussing classes and chemistry homework. I told one it's true you don't need most of what you learn in chemistry in real life because I haven't used it since 1994, lol. Oh, and I also found out that I knew another of the girls when she was a baby. My grandmother used to sit for her. I actually held her and played with her when she was maybe one and I was eleven. My coworker. How weird is that? About as weird as the fact that some of these kids are training me.
Can't think of what else I wanted to say. I'm too anxious to go see if Henry and Katie were making out again on today's ATWT like they were yesterday!
Oh, I remember one thing... I thought I'd put up this hilarious and rather charming drunken email a guy that was in my film class last semester... I'll withhold his name for his protection, lol... sent me sort of casually asking me out.
Hey wats up cutie, I pretty drunk right now, i just got \back from the bar, cuz its my birthday :-D Im finally 22!!! anyway i was seeing what u were up too, still checking if u wanted to go out sumtime. I know u've been goin on alot of soap opera events but u you could find sum time maybe we could hang out. by the way i really wasted right now, i just got back ffrom the barr and i can barely type, by the way whats ur phone number if u don't mind me asking? :) I gotta go im about to pass out on myself :-D talk to ya l8teer apirl. :-*
I'm worried I may have put him off by not giving him my number (I explained how I generally hate the phone), but hey, I said yes... also casually... to the going out. Honestly though, I'm so messed up in the head over the concept of dating... way more than any of the rest of you are, I don't care what you say... that I'm more relieved than disappointed that I haven't gotten an email from him since this.
