wouldbedorothy: (staticradar's Crazy For This Girl)
Cold and gray and rainy in NC. Slowest day of the season at work. One whole damn dollar in my tip jar, lol (thank you Mr. Green Mint Chip Milkshake Man).

Makes me think back to this past weekend in NYC and what fun it was. My poor [livejournal.com profile] freakykat was sick, but she's still a blast to be around, as were all the girls. No walking through pretty falling snow, but the freezing cold was a good excuse to buy a hat and purple gloves at Macy's. Huge hotel. 2 Starbucks inside it. Ya had to go to the 8th floor just to check in, lol. Demented elevators but overall really nice.

And the Tamara events really couldn't have gone better. We had THE primo table, #1, and I was sitting literally at Tams' feet so it was really easy to talk to her. I even got to tell her about Veronica Mars, when she asked for some good shows she should watch, and she said she would Tivo it. After the first event I got my autograph and picture with her, and I asked her if she got the Christmas present I sent her - a shirt I had made that says "i'm the brains and the Braun" lol. She said yes and thank you, but... did the company know it was a gift? I hadn't seen any option on the site for a gift card or anything, but I did send it to a name and address that was not me, so I dunno. She was so cute, wanting to say something but being afraid she'd make me feel bad. I thought maybe the shirt arrived messed up. I told her to go ahead and tell me, I wouldn't be traumatized. She leans over and whispers in my ear, "They left the price on it!" I kind of laughed and said, "Well, I was a little tacky there. Sorry about that." Tams goes, "Not you, the company!", reassuring me and telling me I should call them and complain, lol. But she said it fit perfectly, though she was a tiny bit embarrassed about the shirt's boasting message. Hehe, then later, when part of her present from Bernadette on behalf of us all included a T-shirt that said "Daytime's Greatest Star," I said something about if she was embarrassed about my shirt I can just imagine her wearing this one, lol, to which she laughed and agreed, but of course loved it. She was so adorable, all sickly but giving us her all, and so sweet opening her presents. She hugged me at the end and I finally feel like she can match my name to my face, and I'm honored by that.

Almost forgot... She also told me that the pillow I sent Rick Hearst - that says "I smile because you are my brother. I laugh because there's nothing you can do about it." - is in his dressing room! I sent it because it made me think of Sonny and Ric, though I thought Rick might take it home and it could apply to his sons. But if it's in his dressing room, he must've thought of S/R too!

Oh, and Avenue Q? No words. Except brilliant. Unbelievably fun. And a puppet 69. Among other positions. The phrase "full puppet nudity" did not quite prepare me. How could it have been so graphic when they didn't even have torsos?? lol

All I can think of for now!
