James/Lily V Harry/Ginny -I don't see them as much the same as I think others do mostly because there was no Severus for Ginny. Unless you count Cedric for Harry. And I'm not sure I understand as much of the James/Lily/Severus mess as I want too. I feel like there could be a whole other swarm of goodness in how that worked itself up.
Ultimately I don't really have much conviction about Potter. It's all in the tale someone wants to tell me as to whether or not I buy Snape/Dumbledore.
Totally random, almost not related story: YEARS ago I was reading a GH fic where Michael was three (because he actually was three) and dressing up for Halloween as Harry Potty. Yes, Harry Potty. He had a toilet seat as part of his costume which he desinged himself. Ever since then I have had a hard time not typing/thinking Harry Potty in a snooty British accent instead.
