I haven't read much mpreg myself, but I was making a conscious effort to be different and not copy what I have read (most notably violette7's Little Ray), so that's why I decided not to make it a girl.
It was always going to be a dream, though originally I'd thought it was Justin's. I realized it had to be Brian's dream, especially when fear for Justin's life came into it.
