oh wow, this takes my back... I will never forget the day I came across you on fanfiction.com. the very first story I read was "Weapon" (oi, did I get the title right? the one about the bashing from the bat's POV). it made me cry for hours and after that I went on a crazed hunting trip to find every story you've ever written.
you literally changed my life. :) to discover I wasn't alone in not only being utterly and completely in love with BJ, but also needing to do something about arcs and scenes that gave me sleepless nights was one of the most memorable moments of my life. :) and then all our chats followed, and to have found someone whose head etc. so resembled my own was amazing. :)
I have learned more from you as my treasured beta than I'll ever be able to tell you. I've always loved writing, but with your encouragement, eye for detail and standards for what qualifies as a story that's good enough to post, I've actually gain a reputation in RL, at work. :) it's been years since I wrote any fiction, but I am an exceptional report reviewer - and I'm not ashamed to have a very big mouth about it at the office. I'm passionate about ensuring that every document that we send to a client be absolutely perfect, and every time someone asks me to do the final quality assurance, whether it's a short email or close to 600 pages like what I did in July, I think of you, and the incredible value you added to my life.
I'm doing my best to fit some writing other than highly technical reports into my day, to get back into coping with RL by writing whatever upsets me into a happy ending, or at least kill someone on paper rather than strangle them. I've even signed up for writers write - hopefully, one of these days I might have something again that I would humbly ask your opinion on. ;)
why did you say in your author's note that this will probably be your last GR fic?! and how is your writing going these days?
