Couples #13-15
Mar. 12th, 2005 07:05 pmI'm starting to say more and more about them, so only three this time, lol...
#15 - Logan and Veronica, Veronica Mars... played by Jason Dohring and Kristen Bell
I love these two so much right now I am completely daunted in trying to talk about them, lol. Okay, so they are on probably the best damn show on TV, Veronica Mars. They were friends for a time... his best friend being her boyfriend, and her best friend (Lilly) being his girlfriend. After Lilly's death everything went all to hell and Veronica became a social outcast, Logan more than anyone seeming to delight in taunting her. Over time we learn a lot about Logan, that his rich Hollywood lifestyle hides a lot of abuse, and that his "obligatory psychotic jackass" persona hides a whole lot of depth and vulnerability. Veronica is a firecracker and a brilliant detective, getting to see a little of that depth as they remember Lilly together, or as she helps him search for the mother he doesn't believe is dead. LoVer just couldn't be better matched.
#14 - Wesley and Illyria, Angel... played by Alexis Denisof and Amy Acker
My second favorite pairing from the Buffyverse (3rd being Angel/Cordy, and 1st... well duh, but not saying 'cause they're coming up, lol). Illyria was just such a breathtaking character. I was completely blown away by Amy Acker's transformation, and even more so when she would play Illyria playing Fred. And poor Wesley, seeing his lost love Fred, now just a "shell," host to a scaryass demon goddess. But you felt bad for Illyria too, as it wasn't her choice to be ripped from her kingdom, stuck in a body, with pieces of its memories, and have this beautiful man look at her like he wished she were someone else. Together they were just electric. He told Illyria not to ever be her (Fred) again, but she did one more time, as he died, so he could be with Fred at the end. That's love dammit.
#13 - Nico and Cecily, All My Children... played by Maurice Benard and Rosa Nevin
No, I was not watching AMC back in the late 80's. This couple makes the list completely through my viewing of Necily edits (thank you MARE). And I believe Mr. Maurice Benard holds the distinction of being the only actor to appear on this list twice, as two different characters, in two different couples (hmm, wonder who the other one is, lol). Nico and Cecily were just adorable. They were friends who decided to try a marriage of convenience to free up a bunch of money she wasn't gonna get until she was 25 otherwise. She'd escaped a near marriage to a creep who was hot for her mom, and he was on and off again involved with her best friend Juuuulie (*zzzzzz* oops sorry). Of course they fell hard for each other, but at the same time they admitted their love, their marriage was exposed as a scam, lol, creating lots of legal and interfering family problems. N&C's bickering and their lovin' (which we and they waited forever for) were both way yummy!
